The Doolittle Guest House is a premier 19th century example of the Richardsonian Romanesque style with a spacious foyer and three elegant first-floor rooms for entertaining. The house can be rented for special occasions such as weddings and anniversary parties. It is also a perfect location for small corporate and nonprofit retreats, catered receptions, and club or civic functions. Meeting/reception space can be arranged for half- or full-day use. Meeting supplies, conference telephone, fax and copier services, refreshments, catered breakfasts or lunches, and meeting-planning services are available, as is event consultation and a list of top-quality caterers and florists. Also, the kitchen is easily accessible and conveniently designed for caterers. Rates for private events are from $800 (first floor for up to 50 guests) to $1,500 (first and second floors for up to 100 guests) plus 14.5% for DC sales tax. We require a 50% deposit for all events and an additional $250 non-refundable cleaning deposit. The house is not handicap accessible. Event restrictions include no pets, no smoking, no red wine, and no amplified music.
